Grab a gossip
Ring a good friend who you can talk openly with and have a good gossip to take your mind off things. Better still tell them what’s bothering you and get some advice. Another perspective is always good. Who can cheer you up more than a good mate ey?

Retail Therapy
This one seems to work better for girls! Grab your pocket money or wages, mum or mate and go out and get a bargain to make you buzz. Treat yourself and ease your mood. It’s guaranteed to perk you up and get you looking forward to wearing or using whatever’s in your bag!

Laugh it off
Sit back, chill out and get a comedy on! Ice cream, popcorn and light-hearted humour is sure you stop you taking yourself so seriously. Did you know laugher is scientifically proven to be good for us? It triggers a feel good area of the brain!

Paint the town red.
Forget about staring at 4 walls feeling blue… painting the town red and have some fun! Get all your girlies or boys and go to the cinema, bowling or somewhere fun where you can all hang out and have a laugh together. Better still have a party and dress to impress!

Blues bust
Exercise is a great way to lift your mood! Not only does it make you feel healthy, energetic and toned, it’s a fact it releases happy chemicals that put you in a better mood. Depending on the energy you can even vent anger and get out stress.

Write your life
Write a list of all the things that are good in your life and all the things you’re working to make better. On paper you can see what you have and that you are likely a lot better off than you feel. Count yourself lucky and enjoy what you have.

Chomp yourself cheerful
We all have a favourite food. Stock up when your moods low. Chocolate is said to give us a feel good boost. If you like to cook, how about making your favourite meal and sharing it with someone who will appreciate it.

Sort your soundtrack
We all listen to music that soundtracks how we’re feeling. Create a top 10 track play list for a ‘life soundtrack’ and make sure most of the songs are upbeat. Then crank the volume to full wack and enjoy it!

Colour your mood
Colours are said to affect mood. The best colours for lightening mood are said to be orange (exciting and dynamite), yellow (joyful and summery) and bright green (fresh and energetic). Surround yourself with these kinds of colours to colour you happy!

Good deeds do wonders.
Instead of sitting with your own problems, get out and help someone else with theirs. When you do a good deed or make someone else feel good you get a good buzz too. It also makes you feel worthwhile and noble!
