The OC vs. One Tree Hill

Do you watch the O.C and One Tree Hill? If not then WHY? Your missing out on all the drama, alcohol, parties and most important the hot guys and girls! If you do then you and I would have a lot in common. But what makes the O.C and OTH so appealing that we download the music, own the box sets and can't miss an episode?

The answer to this question is (as I said before) all the alcohol, drama, parties and most important the hot guys and girls!

People our age are addicted to these American sitcoms. Why? Well, America has produced Dawson 's Creek, Friends, Smallville, O.C and One Tree Hill, these programmes that attract viewers our age, because they're not about work or exams, we hear enough about that at school and want to escape from it! There is always a love story between two people who should blatantly be together. Ross and Rachel- hell we had to wait 10 seasons for them to finally hook up.

Why is it that America can create all these programmes that appeal to people our age and yet all we (the British) can produce is Grange Hill and Byker Grove? Ok, back in the day they rocked but now we need more than ‘Why did you bitch about me to her?' to entertain us and along came the O.C and OTH to save us.

The O.C and OTH are similar in that Lucas is the outsider to the Ravens basketball team and Ryan is the outsider from Chino but the story lines are quite different. Some girls seem to be put off by OTH because they think it's just about basketball- of course this is a big part, but it comes with all the drama, parties and fit guys in shorts and tank tops!

Hot guys and girls are a must be for these popular American sitcoms, shallow it might be, but true. The question for guys is Marissa, Summer, Peyton, Brooke or Hayley? The question on girl's minds is Ryan or Seth? Nathan or Lucas? Seth, Ryan, Lucas or Nathan? Ahhh too many hot guys to think about!

Great shows are part of a package containing the show itself and music. OTH and the O.C have brilliant music. So good that the O.C have released a few ‘Mixes' and OTH have released one soundtrack and are about to do a tour! I'm sure for a band to appear on, or have a song on an episode would be great promotion for them, after all these shows are getting showed all around the world. Look at Rooney, after appearing on the O.C their album sales have rocketed!

When a song is featured in the show I get the feeling that it's been picked specifically for that scene.

The records are very different from popular tracks to songs that have never been heard before, from covers to originals.

I prefer OTH because the story lines are better and of course Chad Michael Murray gives a big advantage to OTH, although don't get me wrong I absolutely love both! So, down to the big question. What do the public prefer, the O.C or One Tree Hill?
