Extract from - The Cretan's Curse (or "The Minotaur")
Crete, Europe, Earth – roughly 2000 years ago
Hungry. So very hungry. I needed flesh, and fast. After these nine years of imprisonment, I only wanted to rip and tear and eat. I wanted prey. And now I was going to get it. I heard screams, yells, the sound of a door slamming. They were coming. The panicked voices grew louder, drawing closer. They were advancing, straight into death's arms. One of the people rounded the bend, and found himself face to face with me. He screamed, and attempted to flee, but I was too quick for him. My long, sharp claws tore at his shoulders. My jagged teeth pierced his throat, and he screamed no more. I advanced through the long, winding corridors, searching the darkness for my next victim.
Info: I have been studying the Legend of Theseus and the Minotaur in English lessons recently, and I realised that out of all the accounts we have gone through as a class, not one of them is in the Minotaur's point of view. Maybe he can't help what he is. He certainly couldn't help not being human. That was his father's fault for not sacrificing Posiedon's bull (if you have no idea what I'm on about, look the myth up on Google.)I thought I'd tell the well known story from a totally new angle.
