Don’t sweat the small stuff

Over the last year you may have noticed the shocking incidents of youth suicide in Wales. Irrational decisions that consequently lost young people their lives. Is this due to a lack of self esteem and happiness in today’s youth?

Rising obesity rates and the dangers of drinking and smoking are all subjects that the average member of today’s society will recognise. Continuous awareness of these health problems is likely to have a positive knock on effect in the future, but what about other problems that are affecting young people especially? What about a lack of happiness, positivity and self belief? Is the average member of today’s youth truly happy with themselves, or are we all worried about insignificant issues? We’re caught up in media hype and superficial concerns when much of the world suffers for real. Research has proven that stress in youth can result in serious health dangers, such as depression, now or in later life. Isn’t it time we put issues of little real consequence to one side and focus on the positive stuff we have to put a smile on our faces?
